  • We believe that by supporting your local businesses you are contributing to the sense of community and overall welfare of the town.
  • We help organise community and town events, such as the annual Knaresborough Christmas Market and Party in the Castle, as well as financially contributing and supporting others
  • We regularly communicate with and work alongside other organisations, councils and chambers, locally and regionally, to ensure that the interests of town businesses are well represented.

Knaresborough Chamber Activities

Business Support & Promotion

Chamber supports new and established Knaresborough businesses of all types and sizes with practical help and advice. We also regularly highlight marketing, advertising and sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and are involved in a range of marketing initiatives to promote the wider town. If you are interested in finding out more or would like to attend one of our bi-monthly meetings, get in touch via the 'Contact' or 'Join Us' pages.

Linking In - Representing Business Needs

Knaresborough Chamber regularly meets with other organisations, councils and chambers, locally and regionally, to ensure that the interests of town businesses are well represented. We are part of the Knaresborough Voice initiative, seeking to get the best for our town and its businesses in light of local government re-organisation. We are also working along side Knaresborough Connectors on an exciting economic development project for the town.

Charity & Community Activities

Through the Chamber, the generous community of Knaresborough give to a range of local good causes. For example, we support Knaresborough based Henshaws Arts & Craft Centre and annual community events such as the Bed Race, FEVA and Christmas Market. We have also contributed financially to one-off projects such as the installation of Public Access Defibrillators in the town centre and a Civic Society Blue Plaque to commemorate our historic market.

Town Crier

The Knaresborough Town Crier and Deputy are appointed by the Chamber. They can be seen at the weekly Wednesday market and a number of events around town and are available by arrangement. If you would like one of them to attend or promote your event, please contact the Chamber on towncrier@knaresboroughchamber.org.

Town Maps

Knaresborough Chamber organises the publication and printing of 14 large guide maps situated around the town. You will find these in car parks and other key locations to help visitors, in particular, get the most from their visit. These are updated annually, so please get in touch if you are interested in advertising your business.

Informal Networking

Knaresborough Chamber organises regular social events which provide informal opportunities for networking - but can also be just for fun! We also hold free bi-monthly open meetings on the first Wednesday of the month, from 7pm downstairs at The Mitre.

Knaresborough & District Chamber support Feva both financially and through a window competition for local businesses.
